Synopsis

The largest Village Commission maintains responsibility for a wide range of sponsored activities that promote Bolingbrook’s civic and cultural environment. Members plan, coordinate and oversee social and family oriented events held on Village Hall grounds. Commissioners ensure the operational aspects of community events foster greater awareness and appreciation for life between the boundaries of Bolingbrook.

Events

Village Picnic

The Village Picnic serves up plenty of fun, including art in the park, a climbing tread wall, petting zoo, free hot dogs (and a hot dog-eating contest), pony rides, an egg toss contest, Bingo, fishing derby, trackless train rides, and a senior cooling tent. The Village Picnic is a place for residents of Bolingbrook to see what organizations, church groups, non-profits and services are available to them in a fun and family friendly atmosphere.

Bolingbrook Jubilee

Started in 1990, the Jubilee began as an expanded version of Pathways Fest, in celebration of the Village's 25th year of incorporation. Several years later, the Pathways Parade moved to September and the Jubilee became a stand-alone event.

Pathways Parade and PathFest:

The Pathways Parade was started in 1965. Each year it has continued to grow and serve as an avenue for local businesses, organizations and non-profits to promote their efforts to the community. Registration for the parade it FREE!

Festival of Lights

Festival of Lights and Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony includes: Santa Tent, horse trolley rides, balloon artists, face painters, cookie decorating, Ice Sculptor Demo, Ornament Making, Story Time, costumed characters, Live entertainment.
